On January 7th, Bruno Mars tweeted “New music this Friday 🫂 The Romantic coming 2.27 🌹♥️,” alongside a link to pre-order the album. The tweet gained traction with 33.2k reposts and 191k likes, with many expressing excitement for the new upcoming album. This album is Mars first solo album since his full-length solo project 24k Magic, which was released in November of 2016, almost 10 years ago.

As a preview to the album, Mars released a song from the album called “I Just Might” with 181 million plays on Spotify globally. February 26th at 9:00 pm, his album “The Romantic” was released for listening, with the song “Risk it All” being the most played aside from “I Just Might”. Bruno Mars will kick off his 2026 “The Romantic Tour” on April 10, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, performing his new album.

When I listened to the album myself, I liked everything about it, including the mariachi introduction to “Risk It All”. My favorite song from the album by far was “God Was Showing off” with my favorite line being “God was showing off while making you”. The song was very well written and sang, with the beat being on point with his vocals.

One thing I would have preferred would have been for the songs to be a bit longer. Overall, the album was very good and met my expectations, with my personal rating being an 8/10.
