The senior meeting, held on Tuesday, January 13, discussed various topics related to the 2026 graduates. The meeting was held in the gym from 3rd to 4th period.

The gym was packed with students as everyone worked on getting in place for their 26 graduate pictures. To achieve the number 26 in the picture, students from leadership classes wore white, while the rest of the graduates wore red. The students in white shirts were placed where the number would go, as the red students surrounded them and worked on forming the 26 together. It was a chaotic hour as everyone tried to get in place, and a few shots were taken.

“The senior portrait took a long time to get, but I’m just glad that we get to graduate with the Braves name behind us, as we were here when the Braves became what we are known for and when they changed it,” stated Yamileth Sena.

The people from Prestige Portrait who took the shots were helping with the selling of the caps, gowns, rings, senior portraits, and much more. After all the pictures were taken, the official meeting started. Mr. Marquez informed the seniors that they had a chance to qualify for a free cap and gown, as well as $90 off of whatever event they wanted, as long as Mr. Marquez approved it. This included Six Flags, Universal, and Prom. In order to qualify, he required that the seniors have a 3.0, and perfect attendance.

After Mr. Marquez finished his speech, Mr. Hughes took over and explained how much each event would cost, what was needed for their graduation, and at what time each event would start and end. This included the prices and how much they would be increased to.

When asked why the meeting benefited him, Jason Cardenas stated, “I wasn’t quite sure of some of the events’ information, so it helped me figure out how much I need to start saving right now to be able to participate in some of the events.”
