1. It’s finally here. The first volume of Stranger Things Season 5 premiered on Netflix on November 26th, featuring the first four episodes. Volume 2 comes out on December 25th, with three episodes, while the finale (Volume 3) comes out on December 31st. 

I’m still processing everything that happened in Volume 1, and it feels like it was the start of the final battle. This is totally different from the first season if you try to compare it. Season 5 is bigger, darker, and the stakes are higher than ever. 

Viewers had to wait three years for season 5 to come out. Most people agree that it was worth the wait. One person who agrees is Madox Saucedo, a junior.

Saucedo says, “I remember the last time Season 4 released when I was in eighth grade, and now I’m a junior in high school. It’s a really big jump, but honestly, it was really worth it. I think it exceeded my expectations”. 

With a three-year wait, the hype for Volume 1 was absolutely huge. For many, it delivered on the plot and action, but senior Fabian Flores felt it might have been slightly oversold.

Flores says, “I mean, this season, maybe it was a little bit over-hyped, but it was pretty good. I think it met my expectations, but it didn’t go past it.”

Volume 1 left us hanging, and now the wait for Volume 2 and Volume 3 is torture. Hawkins used to be a small town, but now it is a military stronghold, moving with activity as soldiers patrol the streets.  We know that someone major has to die to make the ending meaningful. The most stressful debate among fans right now is who’s going to die. Is it going to be Steve? One of the original boys? Or maybe a parental figure like Hopper or Joyce? 

“I think it’s pretty good, pretty interesting, entertaining, and I think it’s a pretty good way to leave the story within what they had done before,” says Flores.
