2025 Grammy Predictions
The Grammys will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2nd, 2025. Viewers can catch the event on CBS Television and Paramount+
On December 4th, 2024, Spotify Wrapped was released to the public, giving streamers their years-worth report of their most listened-to songs and artists. Furthermore, Spotify has also announced that the most streamed artist for 2024 was Taylor Swift, accumulating over 26.6 billion streams worldwide. On the other hand, Sabrina Carpenter’s notable song, Espresso, ranked first for the most streams globally. These streaming numbers are influencing the public to vote for their favorite artists online.
Preparing for the new year, the Recording Academy has said that there will be 94 different categories, four of which have fans’ attention from all over the world: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.
What are the requirements for being nominated for a Grammy? Songs and albums must meet three specific criteria, including meeting the deadline for submissions, being commercially released, and being sold nationally (criteria are greatly condensed and given in a brief overview for readers).
With several returning musical artists such as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and many more, the stakes are high and competition is in the air for debate.

Agreeing with many Swifties, Swift will be bringing home the award for Album of the Year, due to her dedication during the Eras Tour, all while writing her most recent album, “The Tortured Poet Department,” and her release of an additional 15 emotionally triggering songs in, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology,” including songs such as, imgonnagetyouback, So High School, I Hate It Here, thanK you aIMee– to mention a few. If Swift wins AOTY, she will add to her growing collection, already storing the same title for four albums, making her the first, and only artist to earn five of these recognitions.
Moreover, Sabrina Carpenter’s, Espresso, will earn Record of the Year, due to its rising popularity and fame during the summer, and the upbeat and positive vibes it offers for listeners. With its catchy lyrics such as, “Is it that sweet? I guess so,” and, “That’s that me espresso,” the song has caught the attention of millions since the time its music video was released on Youtube on April 12th, 2024.
Due to Billie Eilish’s commitment to making her music filled with emotion that tugs on any listener’s heartstrings, making you want to ball your eyes out, she will be winning the Song of the Year. Last year, Eilish and her brother, Finneas, took home the same award for her popularly recognized soundtrack, What Was I Made For? If victorious, this means that Eilish will have won SOTY for two consecutive years in a row.
And finally, and most definitely not least, taking home the cake for Best New Artist will be Sabrina Carpenter because of her ability to consistently produce soundtracks that are uplifting which also bring in millions of streams simultaneously. Focusing our attention only on Spotify, Sabrina has collected over 79.9 million listeners, not including Youtube views, Apple Music, and many more streaming/listening platforms.
All in all, though numerous artists deserve to be recognized for their talent and hard work from this past year, artists, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish deserve the W because of their ability to transform words into heart-moving lyrics that can be seen as relatable to fellow listeners. In each of the songs/albums listed previously, these female role models have shown their devotion to the music industry and fans from all over the world.
