On February 26th, Norte Vista High School became a hub of generosity as teachers came together to create a unique and heartwarming event for students which came with free clothing, shoes, and accessories. At first, students were taken aback by the unexpected setup of small shops around the school, unsure of what to make of it. However, as the word spread that everything was completely free, excitement buzzed throughout the campus. Many students immediately began asking their teachers for permission to check out the offerings.
Senior Rosalio Gomez, one of the many students who took part, shared his appreciation for the event, “I think it was a very good thing, because it gave opportunities for people who don’t have clothes to be able to get them,” he said. This act of kindness not only provided students with the chance to improve their wardrobes but also served to ease the burden on families who may have struggled to afford new clothing.
Mark Niederberger, another senior, echoed this sentiment and expressed his desire for similar events to occur in the future. “This definitely helps with the community, and I would definitely love for something like this to happen again,” he exclaimed.
For students like Ashley Vasquez, the event went beyond just providing necessities and it also sparked excitement for fashion. “Lowkey, I’m so grateful because I might make harder fits now, and it definitely helps people get better outfits,” Ashley shared. The event proved to be a win for both the students and the community, helping to foster unity, kindness, and creativity at Norte Vista High.
