HELP IS ALWAYS AVALIBLE
Suicide is a growing issue in today’s society, especially among teenagers. An estimated 20% of high school students have reported having suicidal thoughts, and suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in 15-29 year old’s. There are around 727,000 reported suicide deaths yearly.
Suicide rates are high among both teenagers and young adults alike. Many social groups, such as African Americans, Immigrants, LGBTQ members, and handicapped individuals, tend to be the most targeted.
Early signs of someone being suicidal include a fascination with their own death, and they will also tend to see no value in their own life. They will often distance themselves from both family and friends, and many will get into addictions such as drugs and alcohol, and no longer tend to their hygienic needs or appearance.
