First Senior Only Event
The Senior Luau, a (typically) annual event, is the first Senior Only event of the school year. Last year the Senior Luau had to be cancelled due to not many students showing up, but that was not a concern this year, as the luau was filled with many eager seniors.
At the Senior Luau, seniors are given the chance to hang out in the pool, eat food that is covered by the $20 paid to attend, and relax from 2nd lunch all the way until the end of the school day. On top of it being the first senior event, it’s also the cheapest senior event of the year costing only $20, and only $5 extra at the door.
Many students who attended the Senior Luau had gone in hopes of having fun with their friends, such as Adrian Mendez who states “It was so fun being able to be a part of it with my friends, and being able to catch up with some that I haven’t talked to in a while.”
Fabian Flores was asked what made him decide to attend the Senior Luau, to which he said: “I decided to go to the Senior Luau because I wanted to have a good time with my friends, since it’s my last year and I want to enjoy every moment of it.” When asked if it was something he was already planning to attend he said “It was definitely something I wanted to do since freshman year, since I always had the mentality of enjoying as much as I can.“
While the Senior Luau is an event that is a year (or more) away for many of the student at Norte Vista High School, it is also a highly recommended event, even with the wait. When asked if she would be happy to recommend it to next year’s batch of seniors, Abigail Hernandez stated “I would recommend it because it’s a fun way to meet other seniors and old friends, while also getting to enjoy nice food and the pool.”
